Umi Nur is a London-based photographer whose work has been published and exhibited, reflecting a career dedicated to creating thoughtful, engaging imagery across a range of photographic disciplines. She studied Photography at Norwich University of the Arts and has been working professionally through UMILIGHT Photography since 2010.

The name UMILIGHT is inspired by her surname, Nur, which means "light". More than a name, it reflects a central element of her photographic approach: an appreciation for light not only as a technical tool, but as a way of shaping atmosphere, revealing character, and bringing depth to an image.

Working across portraiture, the arts, events, and branding, Umi's photography is guided by curiosity, creativity, and a genuine interest in people. Her work balances a considered eye for composition with an intuitive approach, resulting in images that feel both natural and purposeful.

Whether documenting a live performance, creating portraits, or developing visual content for a campaign, the focus remains on producing photographs that are authentic, distinctive, and enduring.

Umi's work has been exhibited at Studio Art Gallery in Norwich and published in The Times. Earlier in her career, she worked with The Cut, an independent magazine, as a writer and photographer.

Alongside editorial and portrait work, she collaborates closely with arts organisations, charities, and corporate brands, providing event coverage, branding imagery, and behind-the-scenes documentation that captures process as much as outcome.
